People often get confused with sea and ocean, but the fact is: sea is a part of the ocean partially enclosed by land. Seas are smaller than oceans and are usually located where the land and ocean meet.
More than 90 % of goods traded between countries are transported by sea. Three-quarters of the world’s mega cities are near the sea and 40 % of the world’s population lives within 60 km of a coast.
The Mediterranean Sea is a sea connected to the Atlantic ocean surrounded by the Mediterranean region and almost completely enclosed by land. It covers an approximate area of 2,965,800 sq km The Mediterranean Sea has an average depth of 1,429 m and the deepest recorded point is 4,632 m.
The Arabian Sea is a region of the northern Indian Ocean, covering a total area of about (3,862,000 square km) and forming part of the principal sea route between Europe and India.
It is bordered by Pakistan, India, Yemen, Iran and Somalia. The Arabian Sea has two important branches — the Gulf of Aden connecting with the Red Sea and the Gulf of Oman connecting with the Persian Gulf.
Note: I believe, oceans, Seas, rivers and all water bodies have been formed in the same way as explained in Oceans during the early stage of formation of earth by the process of reduction. During the early stage, the earth was pretty hot and it had a reducing atmosphere.
